5 Soldiers In Tank Swept Away While Crossing River Near China Border

5 troopers of the Indian Military had been killed after their tank met with an accident throughout a river-crossing train close to the Line of Precise Management in Leh’s Daulat Beg Oldi space within the early hours of Saturday, officers mentioned.

A Junior Commissioned Officer, or JCO, is among the many 5 killed within the accident that occurred.

The troopers had been on a routine train round 3 am at present. Whereas crossing the Bodhi River close to Mandir Morh, 148 kilometres from Leh, on their T-72 tank, the water ranges all of the sudden started to rise, official sources mentioned. Quickly the tank and the troopers had been submerged within the swelling river, they added.

A rescue operation was instantly launched and all 5 our bodies had been retrieved.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh led the nation in mourning the deaths.

“Deeply saddened on the lack of lives of 5 of our courageous Indian Military troopers in an unlucky accident whereas getting the tank throughout a river in Ladakh. We are going to always remember the exemplary service of our gallant troopers to the nation. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved households. The nation stands agency with them throughout this hour of grief,” he posted on X.
