An Indian sailor who was among the many crew of a cargo ship that was seized by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards close to the Strait of Hormuz on April 13 has safely reached residence, the Ministry of Exterior Affairs (MEA) stated right now.
“With the concerted efforts of the Indian mission in Tehran and the Iranian authorities, Indian deck cadet Ann Tessa Joseph from Thrissur, Kerala, who was among the many Indian crew members of container vessel MSC Aries, has landed safely at Cochin Worldwide Airport,” MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated in a put up on X.
“The Indian mission in Tehran stays seized of the matter and is in contact with the remaining 16 Indian crew members of the container vessel. The crew members are in good well being and in touch with their relations in India,” the MEA stated in a press release.

The federal government stated India can be in contact with Iranian authorities for making certain the well-being of the remaining crew members.
Earlier, Exterior Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had spoken to his Iranian counterpart International Minister Amir Abdollahian on the matter.
